28/365-"CAT!"

Caught up...this is today's pic

Have I ever mentioned how smart Sass is?? She amazes me everyday. Today we were sitting on her blanket and she points to the monkey and says, "what's this?" I say, "Monkey". This goes on for the coconuts, frog, elephant and giraffe and back to the monkey....then she points to the Tiger and says, "What's this?", and I respond, "Tiger". And then without skipping a beat she says, "Cat!" and does the sign for cat, which she does by petting the side of her face/ear.

I love my smart baby girl!! This is the blanket we were sitting on.

25/365-McD's

Tuesday 10 March 09's Pic

*Remember, you dont have to post everyday, just have to ensure you take a pic everyday and post when you can*

~Today Sass and I ran some errands and decided to go to McDonalds. This was Sass's first time there and she had a good time. We practically had the place to ourselves....it was a nice day just us. She had a 4 piece nuggets minus the skin, apple slices and an apple juice. She had about 3 of the nuggets, half of the apples and 2 sips of the juice. I don't give Sass juice so when she does have it on occasion, she doesn't like it. She got a stupid pet shop toy, a bird in a cage but it kept her entertained for a while in the car. I took the pic on the way out of the parking lot.

24/365-It's all about me me me

*Monday 9 March 09's pic

Sooooo this post will be easy...:) It's a self pic of me. I realized I have neglected taking pics of myself for the last year and a half so, I need some new and updated pics of me. Since I am learning and enjoying PS, they are also heavily edited..:) I always like soft focus, black and white pics....it changes the whole mood of the pic. And since I did technically take this myself (the clicker is in my right hand), I can add it..:)

23/365-I'm a big kid now!

I started on Sass's room today, making it girly and cute. I thought I would rearrange her room as well as change it's theme. I have a lot more to do but so far so good. Next is to add window treatment. This is a quick post, but I hope you enjoy her new room! She sure does.

22/365-Bullseye! Right on the money.

I got the word that Target opened on Wednesday with a "soft-opening", and their grand opening is this Sunday...so with that news I headed straight to Target!

I set off after Sass went to bed...it was 8:00pm and raining. On the way there, I happily sang along to the radio, I was happy.

I got turned around and had to call hubby to read off the directions to me that I thought I had down...it was a simple turn around and I was back on my way.

I took a right down Salt Lake Blvd and it wasn't long before I saw the big glowing red bulleye...there it was, glowing brightly and perfectly red....I felt like Dorothy skipping up the yellow brink road to Oz...only my road was black cement...and wet.

I was greeted by a guy in a rain parka with a flashlight cone directing me to take a left into the parking structure and then another telling me to turn left. Immediately I saw an open space and I took it. I had a huge smile on my face as I grabbed my pink umbrella from the back seat. I locked my doors and hurried towards the store. I tried to act normal, but I was giddy...and it showed.

I went down the stairs as I was parked on the top level of a parking garage and that's when the chaos of a new store came into view. There were hundreds of people pouring in and out of the store at the same time. There were people directing you to follow the path between the yellow ropes into the store. It was set up as a red carpet event....and it was here in Hawaii.

I walked past 2 large red stone balls that are on either side of the entrance to the lower structure of the garage...I couldn't help but smile because I knew it was only a matter of seconds before I walked through the doors of this long awaited store. I can only imagine the frowns of the people who worked at Walmart on this day, their business will never be the same. I walked in....it smelled new, it smelled amazing...it smelled red....it was very red. There were no shopping carts, there were so many people in this store shopping, buying everything just because they can. I grabbed a basket and I started down the isle.

The floors were white and shiney...I walked past the apparel section and straight to bedding. I was here to buy Sass a new toddler set. I was in awe....it took every fiber in my being to not buy everything I saw.

I found the bedding I had seen online that I wanted to buy, and I got the last one. I saw so many cute things for her room, but I refrained....but I was so excited planning out things I will buy in the future. The selection and style of this store had me thrilled and I was happy and I walked with a beat to my step as I wandered the isles.

I got Sass a plain white shade to replace her jungle baby one currently on her lamp, but I will use the same lamp but customize it to suit her new room. I also bought her some accent pillows in the Easter section.

I went down the curtain isle and found the cutest rods, but I am holding off until we move for those things. This store is amazing and I had the urge to want to decorate every room in my house.

Alass it was time to check out, the new employee happily fed me their mandatory lines about opening a credit card and if I found everything alright. I slid my credit card through the new reader and typed in my pin. She happily placed my items in an oversized bag for me and wished me a good night as I did the same. My Target experience was wonderful, and I felt happy.

As I walked out the door I was greeted by a lady who informed me I needed to proceed to the left to get to where I needed to go. As I walk away I hear another lady informing new customers the store will be closing in 35 minutes. Everyone was so happy and helpful, and I skipped to my car.

As I neared my car, I noticed the thinned out lot and then I got in and proceeded to drive away. I was met by more men in parkas directing me out. There was a line of 4 people, 3 men and 1 woman. The first guy dances and swings his arms to the left telling me that is the way I need to go. In succession, the next guy did the same and then the last guy did too. They were clearly enjoying themselves. It was then the woman's turn to tell me to go left, but she just laughed at her male peers and I turned left, I was on my way home.

When I got home and showed Michael my merch he smiled at me and told me he loved me because I was so excited about something as common as a store. But it made my day and it showed.

21/365-Pizza Bell

There for a while we rarely ate dinner out, but the last couple weeks, I haven't been cooking much. Today I suggested as a joke Pizza Hut Pasta....mmmmmmm chicken and mushroom alfredo......mmmmm bread sticks...So....without skipping a beat Hubby says, "Sounds good." So yup....that's what we had.

All of our Pizza Huts here are connected to Taco Bell....hell...our Taco Bell even serves Pizza Hut food...so anyway...today's pic is of a double coupon for Pizza Bell....:)

20/365-Pack N' Play now just Pack(ed).

Today is a sad day in the growing of Sass. Yet another thing to remind me that Sass is no longer a helpless infant, but rather a budding little girl full of life, energy and personality. Even though it has been used as a laundry basket the last few months, it didn't really sink in that she no longer uses/needs her pack n play. I finally realized it is taking up much needed space and decided to put it away. So long PnP....and so closes yet another chapter of my first born's baby file....:(

19/365-Juicing it up at Jamba

Today (technically yesterday since I am catching up) I was sick sick sick...yet somehow I still managed to get out of the house and go shopping. On the way back from lunch with a friend, I decided I needed a ColdBuster from Jamba Juice. Sad to say, I am not sure if it helped or not....I was so sick the rest of the day in fact, I didnt even post my pic of the day. That is why it is a day late.

Being with Sass today, just doing things, makes me realize even more how much she isn't a baby, but is turing into a little girl. She even got her own Jamba Juice smoothie...:( and she drank it like a big girl!

Today was a nice day despite me feeling like total crud.

Sorry for the quality of the picture, I took it with my phone, I forgot my camera at home. But I couldn't pass up the photo op!

18/365-Pee Pee in the Potty

*Pee Pee in the potty! Pee Pee in the potty!*

So we got Sass her potty...we aren't going to go all out potty training for a few more months yet, but thought I would get her acquainted with the potty. Oh my little baby is now my little girl.

17/365-Right on Target

One thing I couldn't stand about Hawaii was NO TARGET. In the mail today came a brochure that informs little ole me that there are now 2 Targets opening on the 8th of March!

I am sooo excited, but um...a little too late don't you think?? :)

16/365-The one we call Biggie

Here is Sass's first friend...Biggie. Usually though we call him cat, and Sass likes to call him Kee Kee. We got Biggie on Craigslist, the fattest darn cat I have ever seen. His stomach even swings when he runs, surprisingly, he is thinner now then when we first got him. He takes a while to warm up to people. When we first got him, he hid upstairs all the time. If you went near him, he took off. He was afraid of Sass for a while too. When Bella arrived, he reverted back to his old hiding ways, but now they chase each other around and play everyday. They even sleep next to one another. Hope you enjoyed the pic of Biggie.
